I'm Esraa, a Web and UI/UX Designer with 5+ years of professional experience across municipal, commercial and product work.
My work can start with discovery and information architecture, move through wireframes and responsive UI, and continue into accessibility, design systems, developer collaboration, staging, QA and implementation support. I’m also comfortable close to the build: practical HTML and CSS, GitHub, Vercel, staging and deployment, plus Claude and other AI-assisted workflows that let me prototype, edit and publish selected experiences quickly without treating implementation as a black box.
Design is only one part of getting a website live.
CLIENTS + WHAT THEY NEED
Start with the real job of the website.
I begin by understanding what the client wants the site to accomplish, what their users need to find quickly, what is not working today, and what should feel different in the new experience. For municipal clients, that often means balancing resident self-service, public information, accessibility and a visual identity the community can recognize as its own.
MY ROLE
Ownership from discovery to handoff.
My role often spans onboarding and discovery, information architecture, UX, visual direction, responsive UI, design systems, client reveals, revisions, accessibility, QA and implementation support. On many projects I am the sole designer, so I am responsible for keeping the experience coherent from the first conversation through the final screens.
CLIENT FEEDBACK
Feedback is part of the design process.
I present the reasoning behind a direction, listen for what the client is reacting to, and turn that feedback into focused revisions rather than disconnected visual changes. Projects like Dalton moved through multiple concepts and client input before the strongest ideas were combined into one final direction.
DEVELOPERS + IMPLEMENTATION
The handoff is not where I disappear.
I work closely with developers and project managers to make sure responsive behavior, spacing, typography, components, hover and focus states survive implementation. I review staging, troubleshoot design issues and help translate the intended system into something that works in the browser.
CODE + AI
Close enough to the build to solve problems.
I use practical HTML and CSS, staging tools, GitHub and Vercel, plus AI-assisted development with tools such as Claude. That lets me prototype interactions, make controlled front-end adjustments, troubleshoot implementation issues and, for selected projects, take a design all the way to a live build myself.
ACCESSIBILITY
Accessibility is part of the interface, not a final checklist.
Especially in municipal work, accessibility shapes decisions from the beginning: readable hierarchy and contrast, keyboard and focus behavior, predictable navigation, responsive content and components that remain usable across different ways of accessing the site. I carry those considerations through design, developer collaboration and QA.
